Talking Running a CBD Business with Rosebud Founder & CEO Alexis Rosenbaum

In case you missed it, CBD is basically the biggest wellness trend of 2019. While CBD (AKA Cannabidiol) may just seem like a buzzword, science has been proving that CBD is more than just a trend–it’s helping a lot of people, and it’s here to stay.

If you haven’t heard of CBD yet, we’ll give you a quick rundown. CBD is a compound found in the cannabis plant which is non psychoactive, meaning it doesn’t get you high. Studies have linked CBD use with anxiety relief and better sleep. Some people even use CBD for pain relief! CBD is an excellent natural alternative for people seeking treatment for what ails them instead of turning to pharmaceuticals. One of the most common ways to use CBD is to ingest it in oil form, but CBD salves to be applied directly to the skin are also gaining popularity.

Alexis Rosenbaum, founder and CEO of Rosebud CBD is one of the women paving the way for CBD to take over the wellness world. She’s setting standards for other cannabis brands, while building and admirable, trustworthy business. Just ask her customers how happy they are with the benefits they’ve experienced from using her products. Oh–and she’s already been profiled by Forbes, even though her business only officially launched last year. No big deal!

Rosenbaum’s product line is tiny but mighty: three different strengths of CBD oil tinctures and one salve. One of our favorite things about the product? It’s farm to doorstep. Rosebud works with a small US farm that grows cannabis with no herbicides, pesticides, or solvents and does not contain ingredients such as fillers, additives, flavorings, or preservatives. Customers can rest assured that they’re getting the best of the best, from the way the plant is cultivated to the way that the final product is tested.

We got to chat with Alexis Rosenbaum about her business, her customers, and the challenges she faces. Read on to learn more!

What inspired you to start a CBD oil business? After personally experiencing the mental and physical benefits of CBD and cannabis, I knew I had to play a role in providing others with access to the same life-changing benefits. As I dug deeper into the industry I couldn't find a brand that I could personally relate to and organically trust. When experimenting with CBD, it finally felt like I could live a lighter day to day life without mind-altering effects.

What's the biggest challenge you face as a cannabis business owner? We are currently operating in an unregulated market. This means there are no rules or guidance provided by the government. The landscape is ever changing.

What's the biggest challenge you face being a female business owner? My struggles as a female business owner are more personal than anything. Luckily I haven't had too many issues professionally. Personally, I deal with a lot of guilt for being busy or not fully present for my family. I struggle with finding balance and that can be exhausting.

What stigma surrounding cannabis do you hope to break? People are truly afraid of the plant and while I understand this, I want to be a touchable and relatable brand where anyone and everyone at any level of use (or lack thereof) feels comfortable [using the products]

What's one of your favorite CBD success stories from your customers? We have some amazing customers! Some are using CBD for general anxiety or better quality sleep and then you have customers who are using for pretty intense medical conditions. We have a 70 year old man with Parkinson's who said he slept a full 6 hours for the first time in years and saw a 50% decline in his tremors. A mom recently wrote in that she's been administering to her 8 year old son who battles extreme ongoing migraines. After two weeks of use, her son experienced less migraines and when one came on he was able to live a normal life. It’s truly amazing what this herbal supplement can do for some.

What's the best part of having a CBD business? Being able to offer people an alternative is really fulfilling!
